| Derby Day |
Off into the bright morning sun
I drive with a passion, seeking some fun
where horses will run with the utmost speed
around a dirt track, famous for steeds
The “Derby” they call it, in Kentucky’s bluegrass
where great horses reside, run just one lap,
Churchill, they call it to all in the know
the greatest of three jewels, just so you know
I’ll bet just a bit, more if I think
I know the outcome, if intuition does tweak
my choice of the winner, as they cross the line
winning by a nose, a thrilling good time!
