Duty of Mine
Duty of Mine

Her greatest fear, to be trapped in there
where they can see her, but cannot hear,
the screams inside, the tears that flow
what day is this, please let me go.
I cannot see you, yet my dreams remain
I almost feel you, but there is no pain,
release my soul, so I may fly away
release this body, unto its grave.
Thank you my friend, for guarding my stead
as I asked you to do, I am free… amen.

The haunting duty, unto you my dear
will walk with me, for my remaining years,
of all the decisions I have ever made
I’ll question this one, until God says same.
