Finding
Conquest of my fears lurks ever around
seeking the trust which does not abound
covering all of the darkness and fears
hidden beneath a slow shower of tears

Behind the great wall of a sorrowful soul
hides a great shadow as moments unfurl
guarding a life force in sadness and pain
perhaps I cannot locate happiness again

Hanging in a mist that clings to the ground
an unseen apparition draws nearer – no sound
her presence is felt as she draws near the fray
my internal conflicts are of substance today

Stepping up to my aura that cleaves
stands stern before me a visage who sees
a pass of her ghostly hands touch my brow
then calmness descends all over me now

A reprieve from my own torturing thoughts
my body relaxes and the lingering halts
direction is found and a path does appear
I walk through the mist as it slowly clears

There in a clearing among the sweet flowers
stands an old woman with mystical powers
a glow ‘round her presence reflects in the dew
she raises her hood and states, “I am waiting for you”

I reach out my hand as I glide toward her place
a knoll in the field with two stones face to face
we set one on each as the sun rises slow
her passion for life raises hopes that now flow

Return to your home and conquer your fears
wipe from your face all those glorious tears
remember my man you are not all alone
we walk with our spirits within our own storms

Life is not easy and hearts suffer long
have faith in yourself you can conquer all foes
hold your head up and remember my friend
walk straight and true be not wanderer again

When lost is the path of your life and direction
tests are the measure of everyone’s presence
in their eyes you will see all the beauty within
touch them with kindness and help them to mend

Behold the great secret of mankind revealed
compassion and love are the greatest to heal
now seek your own specter where comfort resides
open your eyes and let hope fill your cries

“Always therein” - as she touches my chest
the lingering gone now, as raises the mist
rays from the sun caress my cool skin
green is the field where I sit – calm within
