Last Moments
Guarding the lessons I’ve earned
to protect so I will not forget,
so many people – I have learned from
to pass on to people distraught

Then comes the day of my own
when defeat from a wrong turn in life,
has taken its toll – a life has been spoiled
what purpose in this time is wrought

Great power is not to be known
nor wealth that will bring comfort to me,
I suffer a death – life’s rolling depths
neither hand or heart will be sought

Turn away from all who I know
they cannot understand the pure pain,
to fail is all – consuming befalls
the last thrust for life has been lost

Perhaps the ending is right
never focusing on my own flight
the sky is not blue – darkness consumes
close my eyes on this moment in thought

There is loneliness high up in the air
one last breath as the beat stops within,
considering all – there is no one to call
so I give up my knowledge to naught
